Nigerian Born Sprinter, Blessing Okagbare Breaks Women’s 100m African Record

Blessing Okagbare beats Olympic
champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in the 100m
at the London Anniversary Games. The olympic
sprinter took the race in 12.70 seconds and in so
doing broke the 100m african record which was
previously held by her.
She finished ahead of Barbara Pierre of the
United States (10.85), and Jamaica’s Fraser-
Pryce, who finished in 4th place.
Blessing Okagbare, who had a fairly
disappointing Olympic finals race has bounced
back very over the past couple of months, and
right now she’s Africa’s fastest woman.
